Text messaging consent

Last updated September 21, 2026

Amicable is a co-parenting communication relay. A parent who subscribes gets a dedicated Amicable phone number. Messages the other parent sends to that number are delivered to the subscriber with the hostility removed and the real request kept, and every original is stored verbatim for the subscriber's records. This page explains who receives text messages from Amicable, how they agree to it, and how to stop.

1. Who receives messages

Amicable sends no marketing or promotional messages by text, and never texts anyone who has not either created an account or texted an Amicable number first.

2. How a subscriber opts in

  1. The subscriber opens amicablehq.com/login and chooses "Create an account". The page is public; no login or payment is needed to see it.
  2. They enter their email, a password, and their US mobile number.
  3. They check a separate, unchecked consent box. The box is labeled with this text, verbatim:

The box is unchecked by default and is optional. A subscriber who leaves it unchecked still gets an account; their relayed messages are delivered in the Amicable web app instead of by text, and they can turn texts on later in Settings. When the box is checked, the exact consent text, the date and time, and the network address of the signup are stored with the account as the record of consent. Payment, if any, happens later and separately, so consent is never a condition of a purchase.

This is the opt-in exactly as it appears on the signup form:

Optional. Unchecked, your relayed messages appear in the Amicable web app instead of by text, and you can switch at any time in Settings.

The box above is the live control, not a picture: it ticks and unticks, and nothing is submitted or created either way. The signup form itself is at amicablehq.com/signup, which is served as the account-creation view with this box already on the page, with or without JavaScript. No login and no payment is required to see it.

3. How the other parent is informed

The other parent is not signed up by anyone. They text the subscriber's Amicable number themselves. The first time they do, Amicable replies once with this disclosure:

After that they receive only the subscriber's relayed replies to the conversation they started.

4. Message frequency and content

Frequency varies with how much the two parents write to each other, up to 30 messages a day. Messages contain the relayed text, and sometimes a link to amicablehq.com to view a photo or to review a softened message before it is sent. Links always go to amicablehq.com, never to a link shortener.

5. Stopping and getting help

6. Sample messages

Mobile numbers and message content are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing. See the privacy policy and terms. Amicable is operated by Alpha AI Services.
